Meet Kay

Every child is creative

Hi, I'm Kay — an artist and photographer with a deep love for working with children. I believe every child is creative; sometimes they simply need the right environment, encouragement and guidance to discover their potential.

I spent years teaching children aged 6–13 at a well-known art gallery in Durbanville. When the gallery closed its doors, I wasn't ready to say goodbye to the children or the joy art brought to their lives — so I bought its art supplies and turned my home studio into a dedicated creative space.

Today I teach small, personalised classes that focus not only on creativity and technique, but on confidence, self-expression and the simple pleasure of making something you're proud of.

Why Parents Love Kay's

More than just an art class

A nurturing space where children grow creatively, emotionally and personally — building confidence, patience, focus and a love for creativity that lasts a lifetime.

My daughter absolutely loves attending Kay's Art Lessons. Every week she comes home excited to show us what she's created. We've seen such a boost in her confidence and creativity. Kay has a wonderful way of making every child feel special and capable.
Finding an activity that my son genuinely looks forward to was a challenge until we found Kay. The classes are well structured, fun and educational. He's learned so many new techniques and his artwork has improved tremendously.
Kay creates such a warm and welcoming environment. My daughter was very shy when she started, but she has become much more confident and expressive. The lessons have been wonderful for her emotional growth.
The variety of mediums the children get to work with is fantastic — painting, charcoal, clay and so much more. The fact that all materials are included makes it incredibly convenient for parents.
My child struggles with anxiety and these art classes have become a safe space for her to relax and express herself. Kay is patient, encouraging and genuinely cares about the children she teaches.
The progress my daughter has made is incredible. Not only has her artistic ability improved, but she's also developed patience, focus and confidence. I highly recommend Kay's Art Lessons.
Every lesson is different and exciting. My two children attend together and both absolutely love it. They often spend the rest of the week continuing projects they started in class.
Kay's passion for art and teaching shines through in every lesson. The children are encouraged to be creative while still learning important skills. It's the perfect balance.
My daughter has attended several art programs over the years, but this is by far her favourite. The atmosphere is relaxed, supportive and inspiring. We couldn't be happier.
What started as an after-school activity has become my son's favourite hobby. He's gained confidence, made new friends and discovered a real love for art thanks to Kay.
